GE PGCS1NFYSS French Door Refrigerator Review
One of the most recent new trends in refrigerators
is the rise of what is known as “French Door Style” fridges. These
refrigerators are a unique twist to freezer bottom fridges, with their
double opining doors, several different types of shelves and freezers with a
roll out access rather than opening a door. French door refrigerators have
gained significant popularity because of their modern appearance, easy
management, and flexible sizes.
The GE Profile PGCS1NFYSS Stainless Steel French
Door Refrigerator is one of the more popular versions of this design to be
created in the last few years. Designed with the trademark GE efficiency,
the model does not sacrifice the quality of its food preservation for
design.

Pros
The GE Profile French Door Refrigerator has a very
impressive design that will look great in most households. It opens easily
with the double doors on the fridge sections as well as the pullout bottom
freezers for easy access without much inconvenience. Organization in these
units is incredibly easy, with several different types of drawers available
for all kinds of food, shelves designed for all types of foods, and the
implied organizational support of two separate freezers.
The GE Profile French Door Refrigerator also has
the water dispenser, which is a nice addition not often found on double door
fridges. The humidity controlled drawers are top notch, and the quick cool
feature for when the doors have been open to long is excellent.
Cons
The GE Profile French Door Refrigerator does not
have a great deal of space for its size and price – with about five less
cubic feet than refrigerators of similar size, but that can be expected with
most French Door models. The price of these refrigerators is also
spectacularly high, ranging from $2500 to as much as $3500 depending on
whether you find it on sale. That is a considerable cost for a refrigerator.
GE is extremely reliable, so you will have little risk of it breaking down,
but these refrigerators are also not very energy efficient, so you will not
be saving that money in energy use costs.
Overall Impressions
The GE Profile French Door Refrigerator is going to have to be considered more of a luxury fridge than a practical fridge due to its incredible costs. But this can be somewhat expected, as French Doors are most popular for their modern look that fits in almost any kitchen. Beyond that, the GE Profile French Door Refrigerator is also loaded with features, some of which (such as the quick cool) feature are quite impressive, and certainly make this a worthwhile refrigerator model.
