LG Refrigerators Review

LG is one of the few companies that tries to make their refrigerators more affordable while also trying to boost up as many features as it can. LG is no longer one of the least expensive brands around, as they have decided to create more moderately priced machines that can have some of the more advanced features.

But what perhaps makes LG more unique is that they have refused to make large amounts of top freezer mounted refrigerators in the United States. In fact, there is not a single top freezer mount model in the entirety of the LG product line.

As a result, since top freezer mounted refrigerators are often the least expensive, LG no longer competes in the value brand level of refrigerators. They do, however, complete with the moderately priced models, as many of the LG line is roughly $1000 and only a few of their refrigerators are over $2000, most of those being of the French Door design.

Popular LG Refrigerators

·        LG LBC22520SW 22.4 cu. ft. Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator

·        LG Panorama LFC21770ST 0.7 cu. ft. Counter-Depth French Door Refrigerator

·        LG LSC27910TT Refrigerator

·        LG LFC20760ST 19.7 cu. ft. French Door Refrigerator

·        LG : LRBP1031W 10 Cu. Ft. Cabinet Depth Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

One thing that is worth pointing out about LG is that their French Door models have skyrocketed their popularity, which may change the way the company operates in the future. Their $3000+ French Door models have become some of the most popular available, and with such an expensive price, it is possible that LG will choose to move away from their low cost alternatives in the future.

Common LG Features

·        French Doors – As previously mentioned, LG makes a great deal of French Door refrigerators. They are very expensive, but they are top of the line, and extremely popular with those that purchase them.

·        Automatic Freezer Doors – Some of LG’s bottom freezer and French Door models come with an automatic opening system, which is a nifty automated gadget.

·        OptChill Drawer – An interesting feature that allows you to alter the temperature of a sealed drawer to adjust for whether you are trying to cool or thaw some type of food product before cooking.

·        Jet Freezing – Another interesting feature that freezes any food you put in the jet freezer 200% faster than it would freeze naturally. Great for meats and leftover items.

Overall Impressions of the LG Line

LG has done a good job making itself known in the industry – especially for a South Korean based company. It has managed to compete with even the top American lines in the United States, and the popularity of its French Door refrigerators is only going to boost its brand name over time. It is difficult to say that LG has some of the best refrigerators available, but it certainly has dependable, fashionable fridges, and though they may not offer an extremely low cost model, they offer enough other options to make most consumers very happy.
