What is a wine bottle refrigerator?
As the cost of living has increased, so too has the
amount of space available in one’s home decreased. Property sizes are
shrinking to account for a growing population as well as significantly
inflated costs associated with homeownership, and many live in a space that,
while it contains the necessary room to house themselves and a few luxuries,
it does not have a great deal of extra space to spend on items that are not
necessary.
One such example is with wine storage. Those that
enjoy win recognize the need to both collect and store wine to let it age,
but also recognize that the conditions needed (cold, cool cellar, complete
set up, etc.) are no longer available in the home. Wine cellars are simply
not an option like they once were, as the modern day basement isn’t equipped
to handle the space. It is with that in mind that many companies have
created a wine refrigerator.
Why Use a Wine Refrigerator?
Wine bottle refrigerators were designed for the
sole purpose of storing and cooling wine wherever you may have the room.
They simulate the effects of a cellar, changing and adjusting temperatures
and making it possible to keep wine for a very long period of time any place
you have the room. Wine bottle refrigerators have complex and effective air
circulation systems that are designed to easily remove pathogens, mildew,
and heat that may damage the wine, and instead keep them at the ideal
temperature for as long as you need them.
This not only allows you to store the wine anywhere
you like in your house – it also ensures that the wine is at the ideal
drinking temperature, is at a location that you can easily access it (few
people like to go down to the basement just to check out their bottles of
wine) and are pleasing to the eye, making them a great addition to your
home.
Why Not to Use a Wine Refrigerator
Though wine refrigerators have a variety of
benefits, they also have some weaknesses as well. Wine refrigerators are
considerably more expensive than wine cellars, as they not only cost more
but they require a great deal of energy to maintain. They also have limits
on space. A wine cellar can be easily expanded to house an extensive
collection, while a refrigerator is limited to the amount of space built
into the design, and any expansion of space requires either a new or larger
refrigerator.
Still, when space is clearly limited, and you have
the means to pay for a wine refrigerator, they can be a tremendous benefit.
Storing your wine in an easy to access location, using a machine that adjust
for temperature itself to ensure the wine is kept at the right degrees, and
the ability to save space when your home is without a great deal of room
makes the wine bottle cooler a great addition to the homes of wine lovers
across the world.
